With the participation of Moorea Ocean Adventures, two new green turtles have been released by the Te mana o te moana NGO into the ocean.
The Te mana o te moana non-profit association was founded on September 23rd, 2004. Through its research, conservation and awareness raising activities, Te mana o te moana strives to protect the marine environment of French Polynesia and to educate the public. Te mana o te moana mananges a Sea Turtle Clinic. More than 400 sea turtles have been sheltered by the clinic since its creation.
The first sea turtle has been released by Jean Dionnet, director of Univairmer group. The Univairmer group brings together 60 travel agencies across France. Its objective: to organize tourist trips while participating in environmental or social actions in selected destinations. Moorea Ocean Adventures is glad to begin a partnership with Univermair. Thank you Jean !
The second sea turtle has been released by Bertrand Piccard who was the first to complete a non-stop balloon flight around the globe and is the initiator and visionary behind Solar Impulse, the very first airplane capable of flying perpetually without fuel.
We wish a long and successful journey to these two green turtles released from our boats and maybe will meet them again while we will explore the coral reefs of Moorea island.
