Our marine biologist Matthieu Petit had recently the privilege to be invited as speaker at the last TEDx Event in Papeete. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).
The TEDx Event organized by TEDx Papeete on March 7th 2018 was the opportunity of the 3 speakers to talk about the tourism. Matthieu, our guide, which works since 10 years to the promotion of the ecotourism in French Polynesia, talked during 15 minuts about his idea: How to swim with marine wildlife ?
The opportunity to share his passion for the ocean and marine wildlife conservation but also to tell more about one of his most incredible underwater encounters. This photo of our partner Caine Delacy (see photo below) taken during one of our expeditions has totally hypnotized the public as the behaviour of the three species there has never been observed before.
Video of the TEDx talk available in the next weeks on our Youtube Channel.
